A fun fact on the 15-th anniversary since the premiere of ‘High School Musical’ has just been revealed!
‘High School Musical’ premiered on the Disney Channel on January 20 2006, and soon became a cult classic with sequels, an actual musical, a movie, and a new spinoff currently on Disney+!
Disney Channel President Gary Marsh opened up today about how Vanessa Hudgens and co-star Zac Efron, 33, got cast in the lead roles of Troy and Gabriella, saying: “It’s easy to say in hindsight. But when they auditioned together, it was clear. It wasn’t even a close call. We saw the chemistry between them, and we were sold.” He also revealed that Vanessa had a NERVOUS BREAKDOWN when she found out she was auditioning with Zac, adding: “She was so smitten. She said, ‘He’s too cute. I can’t read with him.’ SHE HAD A MELTDOWN.”
