The Jonas Brothers have kicked off their five-night Broadway residency at the Marquis Theatre in New York City, and let me tell you, it was a hoot and a half.
We’re talking Nick, Joe, and Kevin, all in one place, making their Great White Way debut as a band! And if that’s not enough to tickle your fancy, Kevin also made his Broadway debut that night. Talk about a triple threat!
Now, Nick and Joe are no strangers to Broadway, but did you know that Nick performed at the same theater over two decades ago? Yep, in a production of Annie Get Your Gun, no less. That’s what I call starting your career off with a bang.
The first night of their residency was jam-packed with hits from their second album, Jonas Brothers, from start to finish (minus “Kids of the Future” – sorry, not sorry). And after intermission, they hit us with some newer tunes, including their latest single “Wings,” “Sucker,” “What a Man Gotta Do,” and “Only Human,” as well as Nick’s classic “Jealous” and DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean.” Can you say bop after bop after bop?
But wait, there’s more! Night two will focus on A Little Bit Longer, followed by Lines, Vines and Trying Times, Happiness Begins, and The Album over the next few days. It’s like a musical journey through the ages, and we’re all along for the ride.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “But, the shows are sold out!” Fear not, my friends, because the guys gave some lucky fans tickets to opening night in Times Square, and who knows, they may do that again. Keep your eyes glued to their socials, and you just might get your chance to see the JoBros in action.
Oh, and in case you missed it, they just teased a new song called “Waffle House” that’ll be featured on their upcoming album The Album. Yes, you read that right – they’re releasing an album called The Album. I can’t make this stuff up, folks.
