66-year-old ‘Gotti’ actor John Travolta may be leaving The Church of Scientology where he’s been a loyal follower for more than 45 years!
Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston recently died from cancer, and The Church being opposed to cancer treatments cut their ties with Travolta after he decided to take Kelly to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas right before her death…In Travolta’s statement about his wife’s passing he thanked the Center which to many marked John’s separation from Scientology who would strongly oppose such behavior! Scientology watchdog Jeffrey Augustine says: “The statement was unequivocal in the support of medical staff [at MD Anderson]… It shows [John has] backed away from Scientology. It’ll hurt to lose your wife of 30 years… there will be grief, it’s human. But there’s no acknowledgement in that statement of Scientology, David Miscavige, or auditing. There’s nothing. That’s critical, he took care of it in his own hands, this is a personal matter, like ‘I don’t need the Church.'”
Scientology’s founder L. Ron Hubbard was strongly opposed to any form of radiation or chemotherapy, with Augstine adding: “Hubbard was really opposed to chemotherapy and radiation. But people realize it [auditing] doesn’t work when it comes to serious diseases. In the Church, they’d say you lost [Travolta’s late son] Jett, so that’s why you got cancer, so we need to audit that out. [But] Travolta did it with medicine. This was handled professionally and elegantly, I really admire the way he did it, he made Scientology a non-part of Kelly’s death.” Some sources close to Travolta claim that Kelly followed Scientology closer than John. They’d been married since 1991 up until her death on July 12…Let us know: DO YOU THINK JOHN TRAVOLTA HAS REALLY LEFT SCIENTOLOGY? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CHEMOTHERAPY?
