79-year-old former ‘Star Trek’ actor George Takei headed to Twitter this morning and let fans know that he’s running for CONGRESS!
Takei wrote on his account: “Well, the cat’s out of the bag it seems. Let’s do this! #Takei2018.”
The actor included a link in the article to The Daily Buzz where he announced that he and his husband Brad would be moving to a small town in California to launch his career. George said to the site: “With what is going on now in the country, I couldn’t stand by any longer merely as a citizen. I knew I had to take a bigger stand. So that’s why I’m running for Congress. My hope is to challenge Davin Nunes for his seat in 2018.” George wants to be a “champion for all people.” Check out his exciting announcement below and let us know what you think:

I love you George, always will, but this is just ridiculous. Please don’t spend your golden years making a fool of yourself. That’s just not you, man.
