Let me tell you a little story about a man named Ed Sheeran, who’s having a bit of a rough time at the moment. He’s in the middle of a big, fancy copyright trial over in New York City, and it’s got him all tied up in knots. So much so, in fact, that he had to miss his own grandmother’s funeral! Talk about bad luck, am I right?
Now, you might be thinking, “Wow, that’s pretty rough. How could anything be worse than that?” Well, let me tell you, it gets worse. Ed’s dad, John Sheeran, had to break the news to everyone at the funeral that his son couldn’t make it because he was too busy “defending his integrity” in court. Yeah, you read that right. Defending his integrity. Can you imagine?
John went on to say that Ed was “so upset” about missing the funeral, but he took comfort in the fact that he got to spend some time with his grandma before she passed. Which is nice and all, but still… it’s not exactly the same as being there to say goodbye in person, is it?
But why is Ed in court in the first place, you ask? Well, it turns out he’s being sued for allegedly stealing parts of Marvin Gaye’s classic hit “Let’s Get It On” for his own song, “Thinking Out Loud.” Oopsie daisy!
But wait, there’s more! Despite all this drama, Ed’s still finding time to make a documentary about his life. And in it, he reveals that his wife was diagnosed with cancer. I mean, seriously, can this guy catch a break?
