Guess who’s back, back again? Trump is back, tell a friend! Yup, you heard it right folks, the former prez is back on YouTube and ready to upload some new content. In a statement released on Friday, YouTube announced that they were officially reinstating Trump’s access to his channel, giving him the green light to upload videos once again.
But don’t get too excited just yet, because Trump’s channel will still be subject to YouTube’s policies, just like any other channel on the platform. And let’s not forget that YouTube temporarily restricted Trump’s account from uploading new content after the pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6. However, after a lot of back and forth, they finally decided to lift the ban and let Trump back in the game.
Of course, Trump wasted no time in taking advantage of this new development. Within hours of his YouTube reinstatement, he uploaded a video to his channel and to Facebook (his first post on that platform as well). And what did he have to say, you ask? “I’M BACK!” he shouted, in a clip from his 2016 election night speech.
But not everyone is thrilled about Trump’s return to social media. Advocacy groups like Accountable Tech and Media Matters for America have been critical of moves from all these social media companies to bring Trump back to its platforms. And after checking out his Truth Social account, they’ve noticed that he’s still sharing extremist content and spreading disinformation about U.S. elections.
So there you have it, folks. Trump is back on YouTube, and we’ll just have to wait and see what kind of content he decides to upload next. Just remember, don’t believe everything you see on the internet, especially when it comes from a certain orange-haired ex-president.
2/ This channel will continue to be subject to our policies, just like any other channel on YouTube.
