Tech giant Apple will soon be starting to manufacture their world famous iPhones in India, and as soon as April 2017!
This comes about thanks to a partnership with Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron to assemble iPhones in Bangalore. Wistron is currently setting up a facility in Peenya industrial area, near Bangalore. Currently most of Apple’s products are manufactured in China by Foxconn.
Manufacturing iPhones in India could eventually lead to a lower price due to lower labor cost and expense of assembly. Apple sought out incentives from the Indian government by writing them a letter in November 2016 expressing its strong desires to manufacture in the country. For more click here.
