It’s just been revealed that Zendaya’s character on the hit HBO show was supposed to be for somebody else even though she’s made history as the youngest Lead Drama Actress Winner at the Emmys for Season 1, and she’s nominated again for season two!
‘Euphoria’ casting director Jennifer Venditti just revealed that a newcomer was originally meant to be cast in the role however casting ultimately decided to go with Zendaya. Jennifer in an interview with Variety reveals: “There was a young woman who had been street scouted by my team who was a magical person and had a similar trajectory as Rue and had come around to the other side. But with a TV show, it can be many years [of work]. We all loved her, but when we went through the rigor of the process, we didn’t know if she could handle what it would take in terms of stamina.” Read the full piece here and let us know what you think!
