Ryan Reynolds, aka Deadpool himself, just sold his company Mint Mobile to T-Mobile for a whopping $1.35 billion. Yep, you heard it right, billion with a “B.”
In a video announcement with T-Mobile’s CEO Mike Sievert, Ryan revealed that T-Mobile beat out his own mom, Tammy Reynolds, in a last-minute bid for Mint Mobile. I mean, let’s face it, Tammy’s mahjong skills are only slightly above average, whereas T-Mobile’s 5G network is pure excellence.
“I am so proud of the entire Mint team and so excited for what’s to come,” Ryan said. “And Mike, let’s not call this a family, okay? Family is for misdirected hopes and dreams. Let’s hope this is much better than that!”
In the acquisition deal, T-Mobile will also be acquiring Ka’ena Corporation, the parent company of Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile, as well as wireless wholesaler Plum. Looks like T-Mobile is expanding its empire, and who better to join forces with than the guy who played a superhero that can’t die?
We can’t wait to see what kind of marketing magic Mint Mobile brings to the table for T-Mobile. Maybe they’ll have us all cracking up with hilarious Deadpool-style ads. And while we’re on the subject of Ryan Reynolds, did you hear about the time he could’ve been an item with Melissa Joan Hart? Who knows what could’ve been, folks.
I only want the best for Mint Mobile customers. Think I’ve found it. pic.twitter.com/nSNmGKLmN2
