So, our man Timbaland, the genius behind ‘The Way I Are,’ is learning the hard way that you don’t mess with Britney Spears and her mighty #BritneyArmy. Those fans? They’re more protective than a dragon guarding its treasure!
Now, while Britney’s much-anticipated memoir, ‘The Woman in Me,’ is breaking book sales records faster than a bull in a china shop, everyone’s on the edge of their seats waiting for a response from her ex-flame and chart-topping crooner, Justin Timberlake. He’s basically the punching bag in her autobiography, and the suspense is killing us all!
But guess who decided to open his mouth? Yep, good ol’ Timbaland. The man who’s produced hits for legends like Michael Jackson, Missy Elliott, Beyonce, Aaliyah, Brandy, and practically everyone else under the sun for the past three decades. He’s best known for his jams with Timberlake, like ‘SexyBack’ and ‘Cry Me a River,’ and they’re supposed to be bros, right? Well, not anymore!
So, our Grammy-winning producer was at the “Sounds Architects: A Producer Conversation” panel, and someone asked him about the Justin-Britney drama. And instead of keeping it cool, he goes, “I wanted to call and say, ‘JT, you gotta put a muzzle on that girl’s mouth.'” Talk about a jaw-dropping comment!
He then suggested that Britney is just using Justin for some clout. Like, “We live in the age of social media, and everybody wants to go viral. I get it because that’s how you make money, you go viral.” Ouch, Timbaland, ouch.
Naturally, the Britney Army wasn’t having any of it! Timbaland’s name shot up to the trending list faster than a hot potato, and he found himself on the top of the Britney fans’ “sh*tlist.” You do NOT mess with the Britney Army. It’s like poking a hornet’s nest and then acting surprised when you get stung!
As of now, neither Timberlake nor Spears has bothered to respond to Timbaland’s little blunder.
Timbaland says Justin Timberlake should have put a “muzzle” on Britney Spears, following the release of her memoir:
