Sir Ian McKellen, the 78-year-old actor behind Gandalf in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies revealed that he would love to reprise the role in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ TV series coming to Amazon.

McKellen stopped by Graham Norton’s BBC Radio 2 show and revealed that he couldn’t really see anybody else playing the role, saying: “What do you mean, another Gandalf? I haven’t said yes because I haven’t been asked. But are you suggesting that someone else is going to play it? Gandalf is over 7000 years old, so I’m not too old.”

A ‘Lord of the Rings’ series was announced to be in the works for Amazon this past November with a multi-season order!
