Tom Hardy is swinging into the final chapter of his Venom trilogy with Venom: The Last Dance dropping later this month. But before Eddie Brock (and his symbiotic pal) ride off into the slimy sunset, Tom has one last wish—and it’s as chaotic as you’d expect.
While making a grand entrance at New York Comic Con on Friday night (October 18) with co-stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple, Tom wasn’t shy about his dreams. Spoiler alert: He really wants to punch Peter Parker right in his web-shooting face.
“I’d love to fight Spider-Man. Like, right now. No warm-up, no stretching—just throw me in, coach!” Tom declared enthusiastically, according to Variety. “I’d fight him today, tomorrow, yesterday—100 percent. Let’s make it weird.”
This isn’t just a casual challenge—it’s basically Hardy sending Spidey a formal boxing invite, complete with fingerless gloves and a Venom growl. Imagine Venom tackling Spider-Man, yelling, “It’s clobberin’ time—oops, wrong franchise, but you get the vibe.”
But before fans could start chanting “Hardy vs. Holland: Cage Match,” Tom switched gears and got all reflective. “Look, we came here to turn Venom into a whole cinematic event, and mission accomplished. The Last Dance is our final number. It’s the big, messy, symbiote-powered encore,” he explained.
Director Kelly Marcel was also on stage, nodding along like someone who’s seen Hardy try to fight a lamp post just for fun. Meanwhile, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple looked either deeply inspired or slightly terrified—classic Comic Con energy.
Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25. Will Spider-Man respond to Hardy’s fight proposal? Probably not, but the popcorn will still be worth it.
