Scooter Braun has finally addressed the drama that has fueled more think-pieces than the ending of Game of Thrones.
If you need a refresher (because let’s be real, 2019 feels like a decade ago), Scooter Braun, the guy who manages every pop star not named Taylor Swift, bought her old record label like a kid hoarding Pokémon cards. In doing so, he also snagged ownership of Taylor’s masters—basically the musical equivalent of someone buying the Mona Lisa just so they can draw a mustache on it. Naturally, this didn’t sit well with Taylor, and thus, we entered the “Re-Record Era,” where Taylor decided to re-record her albums because, well, if you can’t steal back your artwork, why not make a better version with extra glitter?
The saga was so juicy that Discovery+ swooped in faster than a Swiftie grabbing concert tickets and made it into a docuseries called Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood. (A title that, frankly, doesn’t go hard enough. Where’s the “Revenge of the Swift”?)
Anyway, Scooter’s been keeping mum about this little musical telenovela—until now. Drumroll, please. In a shocking development, Scooter revealed on Instagram that he had finally watched the docuseries. Yep, it only took him, like, forever. But hey, better late than never, right? In a since-disappeared Instagram Story (oh, the drama), he wrote: “I finally watched it…” Yep, nothing says “deep reflection” like three dots.
But wait, there’s more! Scooter then took a swipe (or a jest, we’re not sure) about Taylor’s weekend party—an event so star-studded it could’ve doubled as the Met Gala after-party. Travis Kelce, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Gigi Hadid, and basically anyone who’s ever been in a tabloid was there. Scooter’s response to this glittering guest list? “Why was I not invited to this,” followed by the hashtag #Laughalittle, as if the entire universe didn’t just collectively raise an eyebrow.
Scooter, my guy, maybe rewatch that docuseries, and you’ll have your answer. #JustSaying.
