Olivia Rodrigo spilled the beans on the wild rollercoaster ride of birthing her second album, Guts.
The vampire crooner made a pitstop at a Variety event, and, brace yourselves, confessed that weaving tales through songwriting is her jam since the days when Beanie Babies were a legit currency.
But hold your garlic, because the 20-year-old sensation let it slip that churning out tunes wasn’t always a walk in the park for her. In fact, it was more like a stroll through a haunted maze with a GPS on the fritz.
“Crafting my latest album was like juggling flaming torches while riding a unicycle on a tightrope over a pit of hungry alligators. Just your typical Tuesday,” she spilled, waving her vampire cape dramatically.
Our beloved musical sorceress spilled the tea, saying, “I had a whole symphony of voices in my noggin, and the pressure to make music that would please everyone was like trying to fit an elephant into a Volkswagen Beetle. Not easy, my friends.”
But fear not, mere mortals, for Olivia found the magic potion to ease her musical woes. “I decided to create something every day, even if my inspiration level was on par with a limp noodle. It’s like a daily musical vitamin, you know?” she winked, making air quotes with her fangs.
And lo and behold, this daily dose of creativity lifted her from the depths of musical despair. “I emerged from the darkness, y’all, like a phoenix rising from the ashes of a burnt bagel. Suddenly, I was pumped about the tunes I was churning out,” she declared with a triumphant hair flip.
In case you missed it, our songstress extraordinaire snagged a cool six Grammy nominations, set to be unveiled in a ceremony that’s probably more dazzling than a disco ball at a unicorn rave, on February 9, 2024.
Taking to the gram, the pop sensation spilled her gratitude cup, thanking the Recording Academy for acknowledging her musical wizardry. We bet even Dracula would raise a glass to that! 🧛♀️🎤 #OliviaRocks #GutsyGal #GrammyMagic
