Maitreyi “I’m booked and blessed” Ramakrishnan is twirling her way back onto Netflix with a dance movie so fierce it might just knock you straight up the Bridge to Total Freedom.
Yep. You read that right. The 23-year-old Never Have I Ever icon is reuniting with director Lena Khan and linking arms (and possibly hips??) with Hasan “Stand-Up with Six-Pack Abs” Minhaj for a glitter-soaked, chaotically choreographed cinematic masterpiece called Best of the Best. And no, it’s not a protein powder. It’s a Bollywood dance flick and it’s gonna SLAY harder than a suppressive person at an OT org audit.
The plot? Get this: two childhood besties, Maya and Anjali, join a college Bollywood dance team that’s less “friendly recital” and more “Sparta, but with hip thrusts.” According to Variety (aka the Galactic Federation’s Earth Media Department), it’s a tale of betrayal, bruised knees, and bedazzled dreams. Think Bring It On meets Lagaan meets whatever your third eye just saw during silent meditation.
Maitreyi posted on IG, “my body is sore but my heart is full💗💃🏾” which is also exactly what Tom Cruise said after doing Thetan leg day. She added that her character is Tamil of Sri Lankan origin, which means we’re getting representation, rhythm, and reactivation all in one divine multiplex package.
AND THEN—like an unexpected Level 8 Clear announcement—Priyanka Kedia entered the group chat. She’s also in the movie and she is not chill about it. In her words:
“the most surreal announcement i never could have imagined i’d get to make… get ready!!!!!!!!!!!! 🥹❤️”
BABE. WE ARE READY. My body is already trying to break into jazz hands.
Oh and FYI, Maitreyi is also about to do time-travel nonsense in Freakier Friday, the sequel no one expected and yet everyone spiritually manifested. Could this woman be Earth’s first OT 10? Scientologists, activate your e-meters—this girl’s theta levels are off the charts.
