Claire Foy is spilling the tea on her majestic exit from the Netflix sensation, The Crown!
Picture this: Claire, the 39-year-old actress extraordinaire, ruled the roost as Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons of the regal spectacle. But fear not, dear subjects, she made a cheeky cameo as a younger version of Her Majesty in the fourth and fifth seasons.
Now, gather ’round as Claire spills the royal beans on how she bid adieu to the crown jewels and gracefully sashayed away from the show.
“I’ve got oodles of love for the folks still donning the royal robes on the show, but for the sake of my own sanity, I decided to drop the mic on The Crown when I did,” she confessed to People magazine. “I released it into the wild, waved my royal goodbye, and strutted away. I mean, that’s pretty darn healthy, right?”
In a previous royal decree to the site, Claire assured everyone that she wasn’t shaking in her tiara about leaving the show behind.
“I don’t wake up every morning and think, ‘Hey, I’m defined by playing Queen Elizabeth.’ It’s a jolly good honor that people adored that character and now see me as the regal icon. No rebellion here, darling,” she declared with a twinkle in her eye.
Enter Olivia Colman, who bravely picked up the royal scepter and donned the regal garb for seasons three and four. Then, the crown passed yet again to Imelda Staunton, who’s currently twirling in the Queen’s shoes for seasons five and six.
A royal exit fit for a Netflix queen – Claire Foy, reigning supreme with humor and grace!
