There’s another exit stirring up emotions faster than a botched love triangle. This time, it’s the charming pint-sized star Jophielle Love waving a temporary farewell to General Hospital.
After making her adorable debut on October 23, 2019 (yeah, she’s been on the show longer than some people keep New Year’s resolutions), the 10-year-old actress is stepping away from her role as Violet Finn. If Violet Finn’s name sounds familiar, it’s because she’s the kid of Rebecca Budig’s Hayden Barnes and Michael Easton’s Hamilton Finn—a combo as complex as soap opera paternity tests.
Jophielle opened up about the bittersweet farewell, telling Soap Opera Digest, “I was very sad. It was fun to end it with a tea party, which is Violet’s favorite thing to do.” That’s right—a TEA PARTY exit. Move over, Shakespeare! Hamlet may have had his soliloquy, but Violet Finn went out sipping imaginary Earl Grey and crumbling invisible scones. Class act.
And those on-set goodbyes? Apparently, they were as long and dramatic as a soap opera marathon. “The long goodbyes…so hard. I think I was already crying before they called, ‘Action!’” Can you blame her? Saying goodbye on a soap set is like attending a wedding—there are lots of tears, unpredictable plot twists, and somebody might get slapped.
But fear not, soap aficionados! Jophielle isn’t ruling out a comeback, though she admits that soap operas are as unpredictable as a cat on espresso. “I don’t know how or when, but I hope it’s not too long from now. I could come back with my dad—or maybe I’ll return in 2034 as an undercover detective with amnesia. You never know!”
Meanwhile, she’s spreading her acting wings and popping up on Will Trent. So, if you’re missing Violet Finn’s tea parties, maybe catch Jophielle solving crimes instead. “I’m excited to see what happens!” she added, probably with the energy of someone who just discovered bubble tea.
To wrap things up, Jophielle sent a heartfelt shout-out to General Hospital: “Thank you to Frank and everyone at GH for this incredible experience!”
Will Violet Finn return to Port Charles, or will she take a 10-year hiatus and reappear as a long-lost heiress? Only time—and the writers’ whims—will tell. Until then, keep those tea cups handy.
