Tate McRae Says She’s “The Furthest Thing” From an Industry Plant

Buy Me A Coffee

Tate McRae, dynamo of dance and song, just unleashed her wit and wisdom on the naysayers in a sidesplitting interview.

In a tête-à-tête with Variety, the 20-year-old sensation spilled the tea on her latest masterpiece, “Think Later,” and clapped back at those who labeled her an “industry plant.” Seriously, an industry plant? Tate practically grew up on the grind, hitting the dance floor at the tender age of 13. She’s more like an industry tree, deeply rooted and branching out in the entertainment jungle.

With a twinkle in her eye, Tate shared, “My true fans always knew I had moves, but suddenly, there’s a question mark over my head—’Is she an industry plant?’ I’m like, really? I’ve been hustling since my braces days. If anything, I’m the embodiment of an industry weed, popping up everywhere!”

The dazzling “Greedy” performer spilled the beans on her tumultuous relationship with Twitter, now officially crowned as the “scariest place on earth.” She teased, “Twitter is like a horror movie, and I’m the unsuspecting protagonist. People just love to roast young women. You make one misstep in the industry, and bam! You’re dissected like a frog in high school biology class. ‘Her songwriting isn’t good enough,’ they say. ‘She’s not smart enough, not pretty enough, not dressed well enough.’ It’s like, guys, we’re here to make music, not audition for America’s Next Top Model.”

Tate, the maestro of melody, couldn’t resist a playful eye-roll as she exclaimed, “What are we even doing here? We’re crafting tunes and following our passions. Sure, we’re putting ourselves out there for judgment, but some folks take it to a whole new level. It’s like they’re the Simon Cowells of the internet, armed with keyboards instead of buzzers!”
