Ryan Murphy, the TV mastermind behind some of our favorite guilty pleasures, has been chatting with none other than the Taylor Swift team about a collaboration thatβs bound to shake up the entertainment world faster than you can say βShake It Off.β
While the writer is busy crafting his latest spectacle, Grotesquerie (yes, you read that right; it sounds like a fancy new salad), heβs also been hanging out with Travis Kelce, Taylorβs boyfriend and a man who can catch a football like itβs a wayward cat. Ryan spilled the tea to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, βIβve talked to Taylorβs people about various things through the years. I think sheβs fabulous. If she ever finds a spare minute in her schedule of world domination, I would jump at the chance to work with her!β He added, βSheβs one of the greats,β as if we needed reminding that sheβs the reigning queen of catchy choruses and cryptic Easter eggs.
But hereβs the kicker: while working on Grotesquerie, Ryan was blushing more than a tween at a Taylor Swift concert when talking to Travis about his superstar girlfriend. βI was so shy,β he admitted, which is shocking because we all know Travis is like a giant golden retriever whoβs super sweet and totally respectful. Ryan continued, βTheyβre a pop-culture phenomenon! Itβs fascinating how theyβve captured the imagination of the world. Theyβre like the royal couple of TikTok or something.β
As for Travis and his on-screen performance? Ryan was practically glowing. βI always knew he could do it! I have this saying: A star is a star is a star. And you know what? Heβs rolling up those sleeves and saying, βLetβs do this!β Itβs hilarious and wonderful. Heβs like the charming best friend you didnβt know you needed!β
So mark your calendars, people! Grotesquerie is airing Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX, and you can catch all the wacky shenanigans the next day on Hulu. Who knows? Maybe thereβll be a surprise Taylor cameoβjust donβt forget to bring the confetti!
