BREAKING FASHION NEWS (and possibly the internet): North West, pint-sized icon and heiress to the Kardashian dynasty, did not walk the Met Gala red carpet in 2025 — but she did pull up like a glam chauffeur, drop her mom Kim Kardashian at the curb, and probably said, “Text me when you’re done being fabulous.”
Photos have surfaced that show North and Kim zooming toward the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC like it’s just another Monday (which, to be fair, it was — a Monday with sequins). But hold your couture horses — North didn’t actually step foot inside the Gala. Why? Because Anna Wintour runs the Met Gala like a very chic Hogwarts, and North didn’t hit the magical age of 18 yet.
Even though she didn’t get in, North showed up looking like a Gen Alpha Beyoncé with long, bold blue braids, full glam, and the confidence of someone who definitely told the paparazzi, “Yeah, I styled her.”
Meanwhile, Kim was serving biker-glam realness in a Chrome Hearts leather situation with a hat that screamed “badass fashion nun” or “Matrix, but make it Met.” Was she dressed for the “Tailored for You” theme? Debatable. Was she dressed to dominate every headline? Absolutely.
This year’s theme was all about menswear, suiting, and the exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” — a celebration inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion, aka the ultimate thesis on dapper defiance and diasporic drip.
So while North didn’t hit the carpet, she did hit the vibe. A queen-in-training chauffeuring her mother to the Super Bowl of fashion while dressed like the headliner? That’s legacy behavior.
Should Kim be worried? Honestly, yes. North West is coming for that crown — and she already knows how to work the drop-off game like a pro.
