Lenny Kravitz is doing a stand-up routine on his recent comments!

The 59-year-old rock star took to the virtual stage of social media to clear up the confusion caused by his Esquire interview. Apparently, there was a bit of a mix-up when he hinted that Black entertainment outlets might be giving him the cold shoulder. Cue the jazz hands and drumroll!

In a post that deserves its own comedy special, he started with, “Hold on, we’ve got some clarifications in the house.” Lenny wants to make sure everyone is on the same hilarious page about his recent media reports. He kicked it off with a classic, “My Black musical heritage is like my favorite playlist. Shoutout to all the fans who’ve been jamming with me through the ages.”

Lenny put on his comedy hat and said, “Just to clear things up, when I said Black media, I wasn’t talking about Netflix’s new hit show ‘Black Mirror’ or the ‘Black Panther’ movie. Nope, I had the spotlight on Black award shows, like a giant disco ball of confusion.”

He continued, “Let’s get the record spinning right round – my concern is making sure Black artists get the recognition they deserve in what they now call ‘non-traditional’ Black music, which, by the way, sounds like a genre that could use a remix.”

Lenny, our rock-and-roll jester, reminded us, “Rock and roll is our baby! We birthed it, raised it, and now it’s out there in the world causing a ruckus. We need to keep that musical heritage alive, like a never-ending encore. Shoutout to BET and all the others who paved the way for this recognition – you guys are the real MVPs.”

In his grand finale, Lenny dropped the mic, or guitar pick, and said, “I hope by sharing my musical musings, we can all turn the spotlight on this issue. Let’s make love, not war – unless it’s a guitar solo war. Rock on, party people!”

Lenny Kravitz, setting the record straight with a side of laughter and a dash of funky beats. Keep on rocking, Lenny!
