Kelly Clarkson may have the voice of an angel, but apparently, her acting skills are more in the “help, I forgot my lines and also how to breathe” category. The Stronger singer made a cameo on The Rookie in 2023 during the show’s fifth season, and let’s just say… it did not go as smoothly as one of her chart-topping hits.
Now, she’s issuing a public apology to the cast and crew for what she describes as a disaster-class in guest starring.
While answering fan questions on her talk show, Kelly was asked about her brief acting stint—and she did not hold back.
“Oh my God, I was terrified,” she admitted, probably reliving the trauma in real time. “I have to apologize to that cast and crew. I was terrified. The Rookie invited me, and here’s the thing—I’m a HUGE Nathan Fillion fan. Like, I’ve been watching him since Castle.”
That’s when things took a turn for the awkward.
“I already get nervous on sets,” she continued, “but then he made me even more nervous. Like, I was out there acting like a total idiot.”
Kelly then made it clear that the Hollywood life is not for her, bluntly declaring: “I don’t really want to be on shows.” Translation: I will stick to singing, thank you very much.
However, she did consider one exception:
“Maybe Only Murders in the Building because I love Only Murders.” But before the casting agents could get any ideas, she quickly backtracked. “Actually, no. I’ve seen the level of acting on that show—I am not a walk-on. Never mind. Forget I said anything.”
Kelly Clarkson: vocal powerhouse, talk show queen, absolutely not an aspiring actress.
