Glen Powell is out here running—not just in The Running Man, but also running CinemaCon 2025 like it’s his personal talk show.
The 37-year-old heartthrob-slash-action-hero-in-training hit up The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to debut the first sneak peek of the Running Man remake on Thursday (April 3). And let’s be honest—CinemaCon is basically Comic-Con for people who think about box office numbers in their sleep.
Joining him on stage? His ultra-cool co-stars, Colman Domingo and Josh Brolin, plus the master of stylish chaos himself, director Edgar Wright. (That lineup alone deserves a standing ovation.)
But before you get worried about this remake going the way of, uh, some other unnecessary reboots (we won’t name names), Glen made sure to do things the right way: by getting the ultimate stamp of approval from the Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“Arnold gave us his blessing,” Glen told IconicHipster.com, which in Hollywood terms is basically like being knighted by the Terminator himself. “His son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, is a great friend of mine, and I asked Patrick if I could talk to Arnold. I hadn’t seen Arnold since we shot Expendables in Bulgaria.” (Which, frankly, sounds like an insane sentence to casually drop into a conversation.)
But don’t worry, Arnold wasn’t just like, “Sure, whatever, kid.” No, he gave his full blessing—meaning he didn’t just grunt approvingly, he was actually excited about it. In fact, Glen even teased that they have a very special gift for Arnold coming soon. What is it? A protein shake made from pure nostalgia? A dumbbell that only responds to catchphrases? WHO KNOWS. But we’re excited.
For those who need a quick refresher, The Running Man is based on the Stephen King novel (written under his secret “I-write-extra-dark-stuff” alias, Richard Bachman). The plot follows Ben Richards, a guy who competes in a dystopian reality show where winning means not dying. (Basically, The Hunger Games meets American Ninja Warrior, but with 1000% more 80s vibes.)
The new Running Man is set to hit theaters on November 7, so start working on your best Arnold impression now—you’ll want to yell, “GET TO THE THEATER!” when the time comes.
