Elizabeth Olsen, known for casting magical chaos as the Scarlet Witch, made her grand (and possibly final) exit from the Marvel universe in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But hold onto your hexes—because she’s now talking about Wanda’s uncertain fate and her potential zombie-esque resurrection in the MCU.
The 35-year-old enchantress popped up on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night (September 16), where they probably should’ve had a magical force field around the studio, just in case. While she was on the show, fans of all things witchy were just next door for the premiere of Agatha All Along, the spin-off no one knew they needed from WandaVision. Sadly, Elizabeth did not conjure up an appearance for the event.
Now, the burning question everyone has: Is Wanda really taking a dirt nap under a pile of rocks? And more importantly, does Elizabeth want to dust off her magic fingers and zap back into the MCU?
“Well,” Elizabeth began with the kind of certainty that only a Marvel star could muster, “I assume as much.” She explained Wanda’s, uh, somewhat squishy situation: “I mean, there were rocks, and they landed on me. So, yeah… squashed like a bug. Plus, there was a red light—so, if rocks didn’t do it, I probably exploded. Either way, not looking great for me.”
But don’t go erecting a memorial statue just yet. Elizabeth hinted she might not be ready to trade in her superhero cape for a life of invisibility. “I think I’m dead,” she mused, “but like, what if someone leaves a window open? You know? I loved doing these movies, so I wouldn’t mind sneaking back in… as, you know, cleverly undead.”
And when it comes to reviving Wanda? She’s calling in the big brains. “We need the smartest writers to cook up a reason for Wanda to be walking around again,” she said. “Maybe I come back as a zombie or a hologram… or both? Let’s get wild!”
Wanda’s fate may be sealed under a pile of boulders, but in the MCU, death is just a minor inconvenience (and maybe a fun new plot twist).
