Carly Rae Jepsen is officially off the market! That’s right, the 38-year-old musical sorceress behind the eternally stuck in your head hit “Cut to the Feeling” has announced she’s getting hitched! And no, she didnโt just get engaged to a random stranger from a Tinder matchโshe said “YES!” to her music producer boyfriend, the multi-talented Cole M.G.N., whoโs been busy racking up Grammy Awards and cool points. (His full name is Cole Marsden Greif-Neill, but whoโs got the time to say all that when you can just scream “COLE!!!” in excitement?)
In a post that sent fans scrambling for their tissues and a pint of ice cream (single or not, we all felt something), Carly dropped a bombshell on Instagram: โVery engaged over here ๐โค๏ธ,โ she captioned, alongside a couple of oh-so-adorable pics flaunting her new bling and posing with Cole, who looked equally “very engaged.”
So, how did this epic love story begin? Well, grab your popcorn. Carlyโs team paired her up with Cole while working on her latest albums, The Loneliest Time and The Loveliest Time. Apparently, while crafting chart-toppers, the two fell into a classic rom-com storyline: girl meets producer, girl and producer create beautiful music togetherโboth metaphorically and literallyโand then boom: romance. The rest, as they say, is Grammy history.
Speaking of which, Coleโs not just some average Joe with a mixing board. Heโs worked with the likes of Ariel Pink, Blood Orange, and even Snoop Dogg. Oh, and heโs also won six (yes, SIX) Grammys for his work with Beck. So basically, Carlyโs not only engaged to her soulmate, sheโs also marrying a human Grammy magnet. Talk about hitting the jackpot!
