Dylan O’Brien and Rachel McAdams Team Up for a Plane Crash Horror Flick That’s More Misery Than Margaritas

Dylan O’Brien is trading in his running shoes from The Maze Runner for something a little more terrifying (and likely with fewer cardio sessions). The 33-year-old heartthrob has scored a role in the upcoming horror-thriller Send Help, which sounds like a travel nightmare on steroids.

Per Deadline (and maybe some overly enthusiastic fans on Reddit), Dylan will star opposite Rachel McAdams. Yep, the Mean Girls queen herself is leaving the Burn Book behind to play nice—or not so nice—in this edge-of-your-seat island drama. The chaos will be orchestrated by none other than Sam Raimi, a man who clearly believes that if it’s not scary, it’s not worth doing.

So, what’s this Send Help about? Two unlucky colleagues survive a plane crash, only to find themselves stranded on a deserted island. But don’t expect kumbayas around the campfire. Instead, think Castaway meets Misery, where the only thing scarier than the island’s mysterious dangers is the passive-aggressive office drama that comes bubbling to the surface. Grievances will be aired, survival skills will be tested, and you’ll likely never look at a coconut the same way again.

Rachel McAdams has been attached to this project since October, and honestly, if Send Help doesn’t include her shouting “I told you so” at least once, what’s even the point?

Meanwhile, Dylan is pulling double duty. Before he gets shipwrecked in Send Help, he’s making waves at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, which kicks off this Thursday (January 23). His latest movie, Twinless, premieres on day one of the festival, where Dylan not only stars but also flexes his executive producer muscles. Because why just act when you can also produce and make sure the craft services table has the good snacks?

2025 is shaping up to be the year of Dylan O’Brien, Rachel McAdams, and plane crash survival horror that might just ruin your next vacation plans. Don’t forget to pack your emotional support coconut.
