Trinity Rodman, soccer star and daughter of NBA legend Dennis Rodman, went on the Call Her Daddy podcast to drop truth bombs about her famous father—and she didn’t dribble around the tough stuff.
“He’s a person. He’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else,” Trinity, 22, declared, serving up shade sharper than a buzzer-beater three-pointer. Ouch.
The Financial Foul
Trinity spilled that after her mom Michelle Moyer divorced Dennis, life wasn’t exactly courtside luxury. “Before the divorce, my dad was actually helping money-wise,” she shared, hinting that there were moments of financial MVP behavior. But post-divorce? “It was just like, ‘F— you guys.’ We’re getting enough money to pay rent, barely,” she said. Talk about being benched in the middle of the game.
Dennis Shoots…And Misses
As the internet replayed this family saga, Dennis jumped onto Instagram like it was a fast break, issuing a statement that had everyone hitting pause and rewinding.
“Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be, but either way, I still tried and I still Try and Never will Stop,” wrote the five-time NBA champion in a message that read like an emotional free throw attempt. He continued, “I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying pick up the phone you have my number.”
Oh, but the plot thickened faster than Dennis’ famous dye jobs. He also mentioned he’d flown in to watch Trinity play but stayed hidden on a hotel balcony because drama. Honestly, this feels less like an apology and more like a reality TV script waiting to happen.
Trinity Says, “I’m Out!”
Trinity wasn’t buying it. The soccer star, who snagged Olympic gold with the U.S. Women’s National Team, posted on her Instagram Stories, “A joke. The response alone. And the attention. Wiping my hands with it and I’m done. Thank you.” Boom. Mic drop. Goal.
And with that, it seems Trinity has put the ball in Dennis’ court. Will this family ever reconcile, or is this game officially over? Only time—and maybe a very awkward Thanksgiving dinner—will tell.
