Chris Martin, a man whose voice has powered many a breakup playlist, took the stage at the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 2) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for an emotional, piano-fueled performance that had the audience reaching for their tissues—whether out of sadness or just Coldplay fatigue, we may never know.
The 47-year-old Coldplay frontman (yes, it’s true, you’re officially old) delivered a stripped-down, heart-tugging rendition of the band’s 2024 track “All My Love” as part of the show’s In Memoriam tribute. He was joined by musical prodigy Grace Bowers, who, let’s be honest, is probably too young to have grown up sobbing to “Fix You” but still absolutely crushed it.
The segment kicked off with a tribute to Liam Payne, who tragically passed away in October, leaving Directioners everywhere in stunned silence (a rare moment in fandom history).
Other legendary names honored in the segment included the likes of Kris Kristofferson, Cissy Houston, Fatman Scoop, Tito Jackson, Rich Homie Quan, Toby Keith, and more—proving once again that the Grammys are where we all realize just how many icons we’ve lost in the past year.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the night of tributes, Janelle Monáe turned it out for a Quincy Jones homage, and Cynthia Erivo delivered yet another powerhouse performance that probably made everyone wonder, “Why don’t I have that level of talent?”
FYI: Grace Bowers rocked Dolce & Gabbana, because obviously, one must look flawless while making us cry on national television.
