Barry Keoghan is about to strut his way into Peaky Blinders!
That’s right, the 31-year-old Irish heartthrob is the latest big name to join the cast of the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, where we’ll see more criminal shenanigans, more fancy three-piece suits, and, I assume, even more underwhelming haircuts.
Barry’s role is top-secret, which means he’s either playing a very shady character or maybe he’s just there to hold Cillian Murphy’s coffee. Speaking of Mr. Murphy, your boy Tommy Shelby is back! Cillian Murphy will once again don his best “I’m dead inside but fashionable” look to reprise his role as everyone’s favorite morally conflicted gangster with a nicotine problem. Also hopping on board the Peaky train is Rebecca Ferguson, whose character is as mysterious as the meaning behind the phrase “By order of the Peaky Blinders.”
Now, if you’re wondering what the movie’s about, well, buckle up. It’s set during World War II, because nothing says “gangster drama” like battling Nazis while rocking a killer newsboy cap. Will Tommy Shelby punch Hitler in the face? We can only hope.
In case you missed it, Cillian Murphy spent six glorious seasons smoldering and brooding his way through the original Peaky Blinders series, which ran from 2013 to 2022, breaking hearts and laws simultaneously. And to top it all off, Peaky mastermind Steven Knight will be back to pen the script, while Tom Harper, who directed three episodes in season one, will be returning to remind everyone how to properly scowl into the distance.
Barry Keoghan’s in, Cillian’s back, and Rebecca Ferguson is doing… something. Stay tuned for more details, because if there’s one thing we all know by now, it’s that the Peaky Blinders are full of surprises (and possibly cigarettes).
