Ariana Madix’s brother, Jeremy, seems to have taken the phrase “high-flying adventure” a bit too literally. The ex-Vanderpump Rules star found himself in hot water—or maybe just really sticky icky—when he was nabbed in Orlando, Florida, attempting to jet off to Germany with a bit more than your average carry-on. We’re talking over 100 pounds of marijuana! Apparently, he mistook his suitcase for a mobile greenhouse.
The details of this botanical misadventure were dug up by People magazine, who got their hands on Jeremy’s arrest warrant. The cannabis caper actually went down on February 16, 2024, at Orlando International Airport. But it wasn’t until July 10 that Jeremy’s plans to open an international herb shop hit a serious snag—also known as the long arm of the law.
It turns out, Jeremy and his buddy, Jonah Ahad, were stopped by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent, who decided to take a closer look at their luggage. What they found was less “souvenir T-shirts” and more “how did you think you’d get away with this?” Jeremy’s bag was packed with 76 pounds of cannabis, while Jonah’s luggage carried 37 pounds, possibly setting a record for the worst idea to ever take flight.
Both were promptly charged with trafficking cannabis—a charge that carries a minimum of three years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Talk about an expensive trip!
Jeremy was later arrested in California and shipped back to Florida, presumably without the first-class treatment. But the plot thickens! Legal documents reveal that Jeremy and his mom are now pleading for his release on bond. The question remains: will Jeremy get out on bail, or is he grounded for good?
In a plot twist worthy of a reality TV show, earlier this year, Jeremy spilled the tea that he and Ariana have been on the outs, and it’s been ages since they’ve had a good sibling heart-to-heart. Maybe this whole saga will make for a dramatic reunion—or at least an awkward family dinner.
