Ariana Grande Talks Audrey Hepburn Comparisons, Considers Playing Her in a Biopic… Sort Of

Ariana Grande just hit us with a double dose of elegance and humility at the 2025 National Board of Review Gala on January 7th. She confirmed two things: she’s a fan of Old Hollywood, and she’s not quite ready to step into Audrey Hepburn’s dainty ballet flats on the big screen—at least not without a disclaimer longer than her ponytail.

When chatting with Entertainment Tonight, the 31-year-old pop sensation-turned-Wicked-actress spilled the tea about her recent red carpet vibes, which have everyone whispering, “Audrey reincarnated?” Her Golden Globes gown? Total vintage goddess energy. She’s been serving up a buffet of Old Hollywood glam, and frankly, we’re all full but still coming back for seconds.

“The inspiration is the Golden Era of Hollywood. Old Hollywood. I love like the ’50s, ’60s glamour. That’s just kind of my favorite—Marilyn, Audrey, all of that,” Ariana explained. Translation? She’s out here living her best Breakfast at Tiffany’s life while the rest of us are just trying to find matching socks.

But then came the big question: Could Ariana actually play Audrey Hepburn in a biopic?

Cue Grande’s reaction, which was equal parts flattery and panic: “Oh my goodness, oh my goodness!” she gasped, sounding like someone just asked her to solve world peace. “I have no idea. That would have to be done so well and so perfectly and have to be… I don’t know; no way that I could.”

She wrapped it up by showering the journalist with a classic Ariana combo of charm and modesty: “You’re very kind,” she said. Which is celebrity code for: Thank you for the confidence I currently do not have.

So, while Ariana isn’t exactly ready to channel Audrey’s Moon River magic on the big screen, she’s still giving us all the glamorous vibes we didn’t know we needed. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to Google “Ariana Grande Audrey Hepburn collab” and pray to the Hollywood gods.
