Amy Robach and her beau T.J. Holmes are moving at a pace so leisurely that even sloths are shaking their heads. In the premiere episode of her new podcast, I Do, Part 2—co-hosted with T.J., Jennie Garth, and Jana Kramer—Amy, age 51 and apparently in no rush to collect those “I do” stickers, spilled the beans on why she and T.J. are treating marriage like a fine wine that needs to breathe.
“Listen, I’m 51,” Amy quipped. “I don’t need to race to the altar like it’s Black Friday. Trust me, I’ve sprinted into too many things before, and my feet are tired. T.J. knows I want to get hitched, and I know he’s in the same boat—just, you know, a very slow boat.”
And let’s not forget the scandalous backstory! Our favorite former GMA3 duo were shown the door at ABC in January 2023 when it was revealed they were mixing romance and “I do” vows while still tied to other people. Spoiler alert: they’re now both freshly divorced and ready to mingle—well, sort of.
Amy cheerfully shared that she and T.J. have made it abundantly clear—like, neon sign clear—that they want to be together forever. “We don’t have a wedding planner on speed dial yet, but every week it’s like, ‘Should we? Should we? Maybe after dessert?’” she giggled.
T.J. jumped in, all dreamy-eyed, to explain how this love thing is hitting differently this time. “I’m a huge fan of love! Seriously, if love were a sport, I’d be a hall of famer. I love weddings and that whole ‘let’s build a life together’ thing,” he gushed. “This isn’t about checking boxes; I just want to marry her, no assembly required!”
Then Amy added her two cents, saying there’s a sense of “safety” and “comfort” with T.J. “It’s like having a security blanket that legally commits to snuggling through the chaos of life,” she explained, possibly while holding a metaphorical cup of hot cocoa.
Finally, she wrapped it up with, “I do want to get married, and I love the idea of having a partner to binge-watch shows and face the world’s curveballs together—through good days, bad days, and all those awkward family gatherings.”
Amy and T.J. are taking the slow train to matrimony, but hey, at least they’re not on the express lane to a sitcom plot twist!
