The Scream franchise just pulled off a plot twist even Wes Craven wouldn’t have seen coming! In a move that’s spookier than a haunted house on Halloween, director Christopher Landon has officially ghosted Scream 7. Yep, he’s done a vanishing act quicker than a teenage victim in a slasher film.
Landon, the mastermind behind We Have a Ghost, spilled the beans on social media (where else?) last Saturday. Forget about waiting for the suspenseful reveal in the movie – he spilled the guts of the situation right then and there. And it’s like finding out the killer is the pizza delivery guy – totally unexpected!

But fear not, because Landon’s not dwelling on the horror that could have been. He’s making a swift exit, leaving the Scream saga in the rearview mirror. “But it’s time to move on. I have nothing more to add to the conversation other than I hope Wes’ legacy thrives and lifts above the din of a divided world. What he and Kevin created is something amazing, and I was honored to have even the briefest moment basking in their glow.” Ghostface may have met his match with studio politics, but Landon’s moving on like a final girl outrunning the killer.
