Sheriff Woody is back in the recording booth, and yes, he’s still got a snake in his boot.
Tom Hanks, America’s favorite cinematic dad and honorary Pixar sheriff, has officially clocked in for duty on Toy Story 5. The 68-year-old icon hopped on Instagram Monday (April 21) to basically say, “Yeehaw, y’all, it’s happening.”
“First day of work on a certain Story Number 5! Need a hint? Disney. Studio B,” Tom cryptically wrote in the caption of a photo where he’s clearly living his best life behind a mic. Which is basically Hanks-speak for: “I’m Woody again, and I’m ready to emotionally destroy you in June 2026.”
So far, Disney and Pixar are keeping the plot tighter than a toddler’s grip on their favorite action figure. But what we do know is: it’s coming, it’s happening, and you’re 100% not ready for the wave of childhood nostalgia that will smack you in the face like Buzz flying through a closed window.
Speaking of Buzz…
Tim Allen, also known as the galaxy’s sassiest space ranger, already spilled a bit of tea back in December 2024 about his own first recording session. He’s once again donning his imaginary wings and laser pointer for the fifth time because apparently to infinity and beyond is not just a catchphrase—it’s a lifestyle.
And if you forgot, Tim and Tom are the buddy comedy duo we didn’t know we needed but can’t live without. Like peanut butter and jelly. Or Woody and existential crisis.
So buckle up, partners. Toy Story 5 is saddling up, and it’s already giving Oscar bait with tears and talking toys energy.
June 19, 2026. Mark it. Tattoo it. Tell your therapist. Childhood part two is coming.
