Tina Knowles is absolutely over the moon!
On Sunday night (June 30), the BET Awards rolled out the red carpet for none other than Blue Ivy Carter, who snagged the YoungStars Award in 2024. And guess what? Tina, at the vibrant age of 70, couldn’t resist taking to Instagram to shower her 12-year-old granddaughter with so much praise it could probably power a small city.
“Congrats my Blue Blue! I’m totally blown away by your talent, beauty, and smarts, but honestly, it’s your chill vibe that’s got me over here losing it,” Tina gushed. “You’re like a cool cucumber in a freezer, never looking for the spotlight, just out there being your fabulous self. Yesterday, you played the piano for me like you’ve been taking lessons since Mozart was a kid, and guess what? You’re self-taught! Like, how? Are you secretly a prodigy from another galaxy?”
Tina kept the praise rolling, “One day, I hope you’ll let me post the video and go full grandma brag mode. For now, you made me swear on my last piece of cake not to share 😂. You’re out here playing sports, ticking piano keys, dancing like you’ve got a VIP pass to the talent show of the universe, painting like Picasso, drawing like Da Vinci, and singing like an angel who’s just auditioned for the celestial choir. You’ve voiced a bestselling children’s book, are starring in the next Lion King blockbuster, and scored a Grammy before you even hit teenagehood!”
She wrapped it up with, “And did I mention you’re only 12? Despite all the grown-ups out there battling the green-eyed monster, you’re just out here thriving like a true Carter/Knowles/Beyoncé dynasty champ. Not to be left out of the family cheer squad, Beyoncé also sent her congratulations to Blue, saying, “Congrats to Blue Ivy Carter for winning the 2024 BET YoungStars Award!”
Oh, and let’s not forget that four years ago, Blue was already breaking records as the youngest winner ever at the BET Awards, alongside Beyoncé, Saint Jhn, and Wizkid, when they won the HER Award for “Brown Skin Girl” in 2020. What a legacy in the making!
