Troye Sivan and Charli XCX have kicked off the Sweat Tour, and honey, it is exactly what it sounds like: a glittery, sweaty, pop-powered cardio class. And guess what? The setlist from opening night has dropped, and it’s juicier than a watermelon at a summer picnic.
Let me take you on this musical journey that began on Saturday (September 14) in Detroit, Michigan, where the dynamic duo took the stage, ready to melt some faces and—true to the tour name—make everyone sweat like they just ran a marathon in the desert… while wearing fur coats.
So, how did Troye and Charli pull off the impossible task of sharing one stage without accidentally combusting from too much pop star power? Well, it turns out, they decided to play musical chairs (without the chairs), switching off every few songs like two kids who sort of know how to share a toy. Very mature!
Troye kicked things off with “Got Me Started,” the first single from his album Something to Give Each Other—which, spoiler alert, is probably sweat—and sprinkled in some of his older bangers like a DJ at a retro roller rink. Nostalgia? Check.
Then, Charli XCX strutted in like a pop music deity descending from the heavens. She unleashed hits from her latest album Brat (fitting, because she’s an absolute icon), and, naturally, worked the crowd into a frenzy. We’re talking people in the audience ready to start their own pop careers, or at least their own TikTok dances. Charli and Troye also graced us with some high-voltage duets, making it clear that two pop titans sharing one stage can indeed result in a small, contained musical explosion.
