Jen Shah is busting out of prison earlier than expected—well, sort of. If you’ve forgotten (probably because you’ve been too busy living your own drama-free life), the 51-year-old former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star swapped the glitz and glam of reality TV for the far less glamorous jumpsuit life in February 2023. Her crime? A telemarketing scheme that was about as shady as a spray tan gone wrong.
Originally, Jen was hit with a hefty 78-month prison sentence, which for those of us who are allergic to math, is a whopping six years and six months. After that, she’d have another five years of supervised release—basically parole with extra side-eye from the authorities. But a month into her orange-clad adventure, Jen got a little prison perk: her sentence was shaved down by one year. Apparently, she’s been behaving better than she did at any RHOSLC reunion.
And now, in a plot twist that would make even the Housewives jealous, Jen’s sentence has been cut down again! According to Page Six (aka the Gossip Bible), her stay in the Bryan Federal Prison Camp has been trimmed by another eight months. This means she’ll be sipping eggnog on Dec. 19, 2027, instead of spending another year folding laundry behind bars until August 2028.
So, what does this mean for Jen? Well, for starters, she’s going to need to work on her Christmas shopping list a bit earlier than expected. And who knows? Maybe she’ll be back in time for a Real Housewives prison redemption arc. Or at least a book deal. Stay tuned for the sequel: Orange Is the New Drama.
