The shade queen herself, Candiace Dillard Bassett, just welcomed a little bundle of Bravo bliss with husband Chris Bassett! That’s right, the one and only Drive Back singer has leveled up to Mom Back, giving the world its newest little Potomac prince, Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett. Born on October 3rd, Baby Jett has already done the impossible: melted Candiace’s iconic shade to mushy mom-joy!
Cue the Glitter and Tissue Boxes
In a statement that could make a Real Housewife tear up (while delicately fanning herself with a silk napkin), Candiace gushed to People, “He’s just the cutest little thing. Chris and I couldn’t be happier.” She went on to confess that she’s now drinking the parenthood Kool-Aid, saying, “It’s such a cliché, but he’s brought us joy in ways I didn’t even know existed. It’s pure love!” Yes, that’s right, Candiace Dillard Bassett, shade queen and professional sass-thrower, is now a certified softie.
Meet Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett: The Kid Who Wins at Names
The new little man, Jett, is apparently already winning in the meaning game. “The name means ‘excellence’ and ‘abundance’ in Hebrew,” Candiace said, explaining her fierce commitment to nailing the name game. She revealed, “Look, I came across a lot of names I liked, but if the meaning was weak, it was an automatic ‘nope.’ But then I saw Jett’s meaning and was like, ‘That’s it. That’s the one. Excellence and abundance? Sign him up!’”
And with that, Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett has officially entered the Potomac lexicon. Now, the only thing left to wonder is if Jett will be serving shade by age three and working on his first Bravo tagline by five.
Congratulations to the Bassetts on their new addition—may his pacifiers be plentiful, his bottles always full, and his side-eye strong!
