Prince Harry took a royal joyride down memory lane and couldn’t resist poking some good-natured fun at his dear old dad, King Charles!
The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex soared into the elite club of Living Legends of Aviation on a star-studded Friday night (January 19) in the posh land of Beverly Hills, Calif. Host John Travolta, the man with the moves, decided to grill Prince Harry about his first flight, and oh boy, did the royal spill the beans in a hilarious fashion!
In a clip that has now gone viral on the internet playground, formerly known as Twitter (or “X” as the cool kids call it), we witness Prince Harry regaling the crowd with tales of his airborne initiation. “I think I was maybe 7 or 8 years old, Wessex Helicopter, and I jumped into it very excited. And then my father jumped in behind the controls, and I was terrified,” he confessed, sending waves of laughter rippling through the audience.
Now, for those not in the know, King Charles, a sprightly 75-year-old, apparently has some serious aviation street cred. His royal resume proudly boasts jet pilot training in the Royal Airforce during the funky 1970s. So, when Prince Harry recalls his childhood helicopter hijinks with a mischievous grin, we can only imagine King Charles at the pilot’s seat, possibly donning aviator shades and a crown.
In a twist that’s more thrilling than a royal airshow, Prince Harry, not content with just sharing a laugh, drops the bombshell that he went on to serve in the British Army as a helicopter pilot for a whopping 10 years. Who knew the prince had such a penchant for soaring through the skies? It seems the royal apple didn’t fall far from the helicopter!
