Meghan Trainor would absolutely love to snatch Katy Perry’s crown on American Idol now that the “Roar” diva has left the building.
In case you missed it, the “Firework” superstar has waved goodbye to her judging duties on the beloved talent show after the latest season. Since then, it’s been a game of musical chairs, with everyone and their grandmother throwing their hats in the ring for the coveted spot.
Recently, Meghan spilled the tea on how she’s been hustling to nab the gig and why she’s so smitten with the show.
“I’ve done every interview in the universe declaring that this is my dream job. I’ve even sent desperate emails to three amazing people who work in that world, even though they don’t have the final say. But hey, a girl’s gotta try, right? I’ve been begging like a puppy for treats. Still waiting on any updates. Seriously, somebody check my spam folder! But yeah, this is my dream job,” Meghan dished on Watch What Happens Live this week.
She went on to share her love for grooming future superstars.
“I love being part of their journey. I get way too emotionally invested – it’s like my own personal soap opera. I’ve been glued to this show since I was a kid,” she confessed.
