Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has once again proven that even at international conferences, she’s going to make it all about motherhood – and Lilibet has officially become the tiniest motivational speaker in history.
During the final day of her whirlwind tour of Colombia – where, let’s be honest, she probably thought the coffee was just as strong as her opinions – Meghan popped up on a panel called “Afro-Descendant Women and Power: Voice of Equity” in Cali. Basically, it was a fancy way of saying, “How to Be Fabulous and Change the World 101.” Of course, hubby Prince Harry was in the audience, probably pretending not to check his phone for rugby scores.
Meghan, who at 43 is still defying the laws of aging (someone get her skincare routine stat), decided it was the perfect time to gush about her three-year-old daughter, Lilibet, who, according to her mother, has already found her voice. Three years old and already working on her TED Talk? Move over, baby Einstein.
“I think part of the role modeling that I certainly try to do as a mother is to encourage our daughter,” Meghan said, subtly reminding everyone that she is, indeed, a mother. “And at 3, she has found her voice.” Yes, Lilibet is apparently running her own little Oprah show at home, dropping wisdom between nap time and snacks.
But Meghan wasn’t done. Oh no. She had a point to make about how the ripple effect of encouraging little girls to speak up can change the world. Basically, Lilibet is not just finding her voice; she’s about to launch a global revolution of tiny, empowered divas. “If someone else is encouraging them to use their voice and be heard, that’s what they’re going to do,” Meghan added, which was basically code for “Get ready for Lilibet’s future presidential campaign.”
She went on to explain how these mini-megaphone moments will create a world where, and I quote, “everyone has space to be the best version of themselves.” This, of course, is wonderful news for the rest of us mere mortals who’ve been struggling to find room to breathe under the weight of societal expectations. Thanks to Lilibet, we can all finally be fabulous, unapologetically loud, and the best version of ourselves – as long as we’re three years old, of course.
Meghan Markle: Duchess, mother, inspirational speaker, and now, mentor to the world’s tiniest life coach. Lilibet, take the stage. We’re all just living in your empowered toddler universe.
