A game show based on Friends is coming to Max!
In honor of the show that taught us everything from pivoting couches to avoiding sandwiches during Joey’s lunch break, Max is celebrating Friends’ 30th anniversary with a four-part competition series called Fast Friends (because why walk when you can fast forward through all the seasons?). According to the folks over at Variety, it’s like if Central Perk and an escape room had a very caffeinated baby.
Brace yourself for the ultimate showdown as this show will be filmed INSIDE The Friends Experience: The One in New York. Yes, that’s right—a two-story, 17,000 square-foot nostalgia bomb, packed with 18 rooms where you can relive all the awkward moments, sarcastic quips, and “We were on a break!” debates.
Now, imagine racing through Rachel and Monica’s apartment, dodging over-sized wedding dresses and piles of laundry, then darting across Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad without tripping over a Hugsy doll. All while grabbing a quick coffee at Central Perk, hoping that Gunther doesn’t ask you if Rachel’s around (spoiler: she’s not).
According to the release, fans will not only be running around like Ross chasing after his lost sandwich but will also be tested with trivia, puzzles, and games so intense that even Chandler might start to sweat. If you can survive all of that, you and your team could be crowned the Ultimate Friends Fans—a title that will make you feel like you’ve won the Geller Cup (or at least gotten out of Thanksgiving football without Monica tackling you).
Filming kicks off in October (time to brush up on your Friends knowledge and your ability to sarcastically respond to everything), but we don’t have a release date yet. So until then, practice your “How you doin’?” line and make sure you know your UNAGI.
To make things even more exciting, Max is rolling out a whole Friends fiesta. Expect bonus content, a TikTok filter that lets you see what you’d look like as the seventh Friend (let’s be real, you’d totally fit in), a new design for the show’s collection page, and a bunch of other in-app surprises to make you say, “Oh. My. God.” Just like Janice would.
Could we BE any more ready for this?!
