Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat are officially in their “chaotic cat lady” era—on camera, at least!
The Twilight brooder-in-chief (34) and the Arrested Development chaos generator (35) were spotted filming their upcoming buddy-comedy, The Wrong Girls, in Los Angeles on Wednesday (March 5), and things got… weird.
In a series of highly confusing yet deeply entertaining photos, Kristen and Alia were seen sprinting through the streets, gripping backpacks filled with cats like two criminals in a high-stakes pet heist. Were they filming? Or had they simply acquired some cats mid-scene and decided to flee? The world may never know.
So what’s The Wrong Girls about? According to Variety, it follows two best friends who are as financially unstable as their life choices, surviving off “paycheck to paycheck and bong rip to bong rip.” But then—plot twist!—a massive case of mistaken identity throws their already-questionable lives into full-blown chaos.
Kristen and Alia are leading the charge, but the cast is stacked with comedy powerhouses like Seth Rogen, Kumail Nanjiani, and LaKeith Stanfield—meaning this movie has the potential to be the most unhinged thing since that one time Kristen wore sneakers to the Cannes red carpet.
Adding a personal touch, Kristen’s fiancée, Dylan Meyer, is directing the film—because what’s better than a buddy comedy? A buddy comedy directed by your actual buddy-for-life.
Now, the only remaining question: Were the cats part of the plot, or did Kristen and Alia just start a rogue animal rescue mid-shoot? Stay tuned.
