Kathryn Hahn has decided that in her new Disney+ series Agatha All Along, the best way to make an entrance is—wait for it—completely naked! That’s right, the 51-year-old comedy queen is back as Agatha Harkness, and she’s also the first gal in Marvel history to let it all hang out on camera. Take that, Avengers!
In a chat with Variety that was probably more entertaining than a superhero brawl, Kathryn revealed that the idea to go nude was all hers. Because nothing says “I’m a powerful witch” quite like being au naturel! She explained, “I thought it would be fabulous to see her as stripped down—literally—because it mirrors her feeling like a total hot mess at the start of the series.”
Let’s face it: when you’re down on your luck, sometimes the best thing to do is to take off your pants and embrace the breeze!
She elaborated, “She’s been stripped of all her powers, kind of like how I feel when I forget my coffee in the morning—just lost and vulnerable.” And who hasn’t had those moments where you just want to stand naked in front of the neighbors and shout, “I’m finding my groove back, one bare cheek at a time!”
Showrunner Jac Schaeffer chimed in, adding that Kathryn took her commitment to nudity to the next level by opting to skip the robe for an outdoor scene. “Kathryn was like, ‘Would she grab a robe? Nah! She’d totally strut around without a care in the world!’” Jac recalled, probably while trying to keep a straight face. “I thought, ‘This is the greatest idea since sliced bread!’”
