Kate Winslet is back in action, and this time she’s taking a dip—literally—in a new trailer for her upcoming movie. In “Lee,” the 48-year-old Oscar-winner is channeling her inner war photographer and channeling her inner superhero as Lee Miller, the 20th century’s answer to “Don’t Mess With Me” with a camera.
This cinematic rollercoaster is directed by Ellen Kuras and features an all-star cast that looks like it was picked by someone who just spun a globe and threw darts at it. Alongside Winslet, you’ve got Josh O’Connor, Andrea Riseborough, Andy Samberg (yes, you read that right), Alexander Skarsgård, and Marion Cotillard. Talk about a party!
The film dives headfirst into a decade of Miller’s life, where she’s not just taking pictures, she’s taking names. With an eye for capturing war’s chaotic charm—yes, including that legendary snapshot of her chilling in Hitler’s bathtub—Miller’s got talent and tenacity coming out of her ears. She’s basically the Beyoncé of war photography, except with fewer dance moves and more deep, existential angst.
In “Lee,” get ready for a whirlwind of drama, empathy, and a hefty dose of “I can’t believe this really happened” moments. The movie promises to explore Miller’s high-speed pursuit of truth, which, spoiler alert, comes with a hefty emotional price tag and a few childhood secrets that are buried deeper than your grandma’s secret cookie recipe.
Mark your calendars: “Lee” hits theaters on Sept. 27. Get ready to be amazed, entertained, and maybe slightly confused by the combination of humor and intensity. Buckle up!
