Joey King and Sabrina Carpenter have been BFFs for a whole decade, proving that bestie love can last longer than a Kardashian marriage. Even when they’re miles apart, these two are always cheering each other on.
This past weekend, both stars landed in the Big Apple for work. Joey took a break from her busy schedule to catch Sabrina’s show at Governor’s Ball. It was a monumental occasion: the first time Joey had seen her bestie rock the stage in years.
“Yesterday was the first time I’ve seen her perform in forever because our schedules are like two ships passing in the night,” Joey spilled to People at the Despicable Me 4 premiere on Sunday.
And get this: she totally bawled her eyes out after the show. “I literally was sobbing. Like, ugly crying. I was so proud of her. She’s just incredible.”
But Joey didn’t hold back on giving Sabrina a hard time about her hit songs. “She’s so rude for making her songs so catchy,” Joey joked, probably while shaking her fist at the sky in mock outrage.
“I’m over the moon for her, but seriously, I can’t stop singing ‘Please Please Please’ … it’s like a musical parasite in my brain,” she quipped. “And don’t get me started on the music video. It’s ridiculously addicting. I mean, who makes something so good that I end up watching it six times at 2:00 a.m. when I should be sleeping? So rude!”
The saga of Joey King and Sabrina Carpenter, where friendship is eternal, schedules are chaotic, and catchy songs are the ultimate betrayal.
