Jennifer Hudson is spilling some family tea that’s more surprising than discovering your pet can talk.
The 42-year-old superstar singer and actress recently dropped a jaw-dropping bombshell: her dad had a whopping 27 children, and she’s still on a mission to meet them all. Imagine trying to remember that many names at a family reunion!
Jennifer spilled the beans during an episode of Michele Norris’ podcast, “Your Mama’s Kitchen.” Now, if there was ever a kitchen where you’d need an industrial-sized fridge, this would be it!
“Your father had a big personality,” Michele remarked, undoubtedly understating the situation. “And you went with your siblings to find him, and discovered you had quite a few more siblings.”
Jennifer chuckled, “Yes, a lot of us. Apparently, he had 27 children… I’ve never met all of them.” It’s like her dad was hosting a reality show, “Who Wants to Be a Hudson?”
She shared her teenage dream of one day gathering all her siblings for an epic Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. “It was my dream to have all of us at this grand table, and we all sit and eat together — that was my goal at 16,” she said. You can almost picture the chaos of passing the mashed potatoes to 26 other people. “We found quite a few of us. And I’m the youngest of all of them.”
The sibling meet-and-greet started rolling after her dad’s mom passed away. “When my grandma on his side passed, my siblings over there were like, ‘Y’all got a sister that can really sing, you should meet her.’ And eventually we all came together,” Jennifer explained.
