Attention all hip-hop fans, movie lovers, and people who just enjoy a little chaos—GloRilla and Latto are here to rob the music scene blind! (Metaphorically speaking. No actual laws were broken.)
The dynamic duo just dropped the music video for their song “Procedure,” and let’s just say… Beyoncé’s Carmen: A Hip Hopera is shaking.
A ‘Set It Off’ Tribute With a Twist
Directed by the legend himself, Benny Boom, the video takes inspiration from the iconic 1996 film Set It Off—a.k.a. the movie that made everyone briefly consider a career in bank robbery before remembering that jail exists.
In the visual masterpiece, Big Glo and Big Mama (yes, that’s Latto’s alter ego—don’t question it) put their criminal minds together for the most stylish heist of all time. With the help of some conveniently cooperative security guards, the two rap queens pull off the ultimate bank robbery and secure the bag… until GloRilla wakes up to her real-life mom (played by actual Set It Off queen Vivica A. Fox) telling her to quit playing and get her life together. Yep, it was all a dream! (Shoutout to Biggie for the blueprint.)
A Times Square Takeover
Because casually dropping a fire music video wasn’t enough, the world premiere happened on a giant billboard in Times Square. That’s right—while you were doomscrolling, Glo and Latto were out here running New York.
Now stop what you’re doing and watch the video below before your mom calls and wakes you up from your rap star dreams.
