Omarosa Manigault Newman — yes, that Omarosa — has officially hopped on the Kamala Harris bandwagon, and she’s bringing receipts, shade, and just the right amount of political side-eye.
In a new interview with Variety, the ex-Trump White House communications guru, former Apprentice reality show contestant, and self-proclaimed chaos conductor (not really, but she might as well be) laid it all out: She’s Team Kamala now.
You might remember Omarosa as the one person on The Celebrity Apprentice who made everyone else seem downright reasonable by comparison. After a couple of reality show stints with Donald Trump, she followed him to the White House in what we can only assume was the weirdest career transition since Arnold Schwarzenegger decided to become governor. But then things soured, and Omarosa went full tell-all mode in her 2018 book Unhinged. In it, she called Trump a racist and suggested he wasn’t exactly firing on all cylinders mentally. (She basically gave him the Yelp review no hotel wants: “Trash, 1 star, would not return.”)
Trump’s camp hit back, claiming she violated an NDA, but Omarosa won that legal battle in 2022. Guess karma does have an arbitration lawyer on retainer.
Now she’s looking toward the future and has decided it’s Kamala Harris’s time to shine. “When I was writing Unhinged, I reflected on how Trump could have had the glow-up of a lifetime and become a real leader,” Omarosa said. “Instead, he chose to cosplay as Darth Vader. And that’s why I have zero hesitation in saying — for the first time — I am all in for Kamala Harris.”
But wait, there’s more. She’s not just rooting for Kamala to win; she wants her to lead a whole parade of fresh, young politicians to Capitol Hill. “When Kamala wins — because I’m manifesting it, okay? — I hope she brings that new energy we desperately need. Young women deserve a chance to run the show, and frankly, I’ve clocked more time in Washington than most people spend figuring out their Starbucks order.”
Omarosa gave a little walk down memory lane too, explaining that she’s served her political time. “I started in politics during my 20s with Al Gore, worked with Bill Clinton, and somehow ended up back in the West Wing with Donald. It’s been 20+ years. Honestly, I think I’ve spent more time in Washington than Forrest Gump spent running across the country, and it’s time for new guys to step up.”
But she wasn’t done throwing shade. When asked about Trump’s past jabs at Kamala’s heritage, Omarosa rolled her eyes so hard you could practically hear them. “I thought it was next-level ridiculous,” she said. “Especially coming from Donald, who isn’t exactly the poster boy for genealogical transparency. The man once pretended his family was from Sweden because, apparently, German wasn’t trendy enough for him. You know it’s bad when even your own heritage can’t get through security at The Art of the Deal.”
And with that, Omarosa has officially made her political comeback tour way more interesting. Will Kamala’s campaign benefit from this endorsement? Who knows. But one thing’s for sure: If there’s one thing Omarosa knows how to do, it’s make things spicy.
