Guess what? Christopher Walken is already planning his next big gig after Dune: Part Two! Yes, the man whose eccentricity is as legendary as his acting chops is gearing up for yet another adventure in the land of cinema.
At 80, Christopher has strutted his stuff through a myriad of roles, winning an Oscar and our hearts along the way. From a slick conman in Seven Psychopaths to a mundane office worker in Severance, there’s no character he can’t bring to life with his signature flair.
In Denis Villeneuve’s Dune sequel, Christopher graces the screen as none other than The Emperor himself. But hold onto your hats because after embodying such a powerful and influential figure, Christopher’s got his sights set on something a tad more… ordinary.
“I’ve danced with weirdos and waltzed with eccentrics,” he revealed in a Rolling Stone interview. “But now, I want to kick back and play the most mundane guy you can think of. Picture this: a doctor. Yep, just your run-of-the-mill, stethoscope-wielding doc.”
And what about retirement, you ask? Well, Christopher has a theory about that. “Retire? Ha! Actors don’t retire, my friend. They get retired. So until Hollywood decides to pull the plug on ol’ Walken, you bet I’ll be waiting for that phone to ring… or not ring, as the case may be.”
